Game Design Challenge
Passaic County 4-H is holding its first Game Design Challenge!
Did you know that playing board games can be more than just good family fun? Playing board games is also good for teaching and practicing cognitive skills such as decision making, higher level strategic thinking, and problem solving, all skills important in the computer science field.
Part 1: Due May 31st: An Idea is Born!
During this phase, your goal is to come up with an idea for a new game. The game can be a board game, a card game, or a dice game (or a combination of the three!)
Part 2: Due June 30th: The Games Begin!
Using cardboard, cardstock, or other materials, begin to design your game. Don't forget to have people test your game so you can make improvements!
Part 3: Due July 31st: To Market, To Market
Now it is time to make your final product! You will be sent supplies. Take everything you learned from each iteration and create your final game!
Prizes will be awarded in August!
